Whole wheat almond butter cookies

I Made these whole wheat cookies with sliced almonds. It is so satisfying to bake something with whole wheat flour instead of maida, guilt free baking at its best..well yeah there's butter in it but still ;)..they are eggless too and I love eggless cookie and ice cream recipes for reasons unknown to me :) You can't really distinguish between these and regular APF butter cookies except for the color...they taste delicious. This recipe is from easycooking

Ingredients:
Whole wheat flour-1 cup
Caster sugar or fine granulated sugar-1/2 cup
Sliced almonds-1/4 cup
Unsalted Butter-1/2 cup or 100 gms, softened and at room temp
Cardamom powder-1/2 tsp
Salt-1/4 tsp
Milk-1 to 2 tbsp( I used 1 tbsp)

Method:

  • Mix together all the ingredients in a bowl except milk, add milk only if you find the dough is crumbly or else skip it and knead till you get soft dough

  • Make a small balls, flatten a little and place them in an ungreased baking tray

  • Bake them for 20 mins in a preheated oven at 150 c.Cool them on a wire rack and store in an air  tight container once completely cooled

  1. I love a nice simple almond cookie. They are great on their own or dressed up with some chocolate and sprinkles.
